Police Probe Death of Security Guard Found at Workplace in Osun

Deceased guard discovered lifeless early Tuesday; no signs of violence found, say police

The Osun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a security guard, Basiru Aminu, who was found lifeless at his workplace in the Oke Ola area of Igbaye, Osun State.

The body was discovered around 7 a.m. on Tuesday by residents, who immediately alerted authorities.

Police spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the incident, stating that preliminary checks revealed no visible marks of violence, suggesting a possible natural cause.

“It was a sudden and natural death,” Ojelabi said, adding that an autopsy may be conducted to confirm the cause.

The discovery sparked panic in the community, with some residents suspecting foul play while others believe the guard, aged 38, may have died from a health-related complication.

Investigations are ongoing as police seek to clarify the circumstances surrounding Aminu’s death.
