Chief Olugbenga Akande Conferred as Bobarin Agbenuso-Onkowe of Ado-Odo Kingdom

Olófin Adimula Oodua of Ado-Odo installs Akande in a revered chieftaincy ceremony marked by cultural honour and royal recognition.

Chief Olugbenga Akande has been formally conferred with the prestigious title of Bobarin Agbenuso-Onkòwé of Ado-Odo Kingdom, Awori Land by the Olófin Adimúlà Oòduà of Adó-odò Kingdom, Aláyélúwà Oba Olúsolá Idris Adébòwálè Làmídì-Osólò, Ôténíbotèmólè II. The colourful chieftaincy ceremony was held at the historic Olófin Adimúlà Oodua Palace, Isalè Adó, Ado-Odo.

The event drew dignitaries, community leaders, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate Akande’s elevation into the revered traditional hierarchy of the Awori Kingdom. Congratulations poured in from across the region, reflecting the respect and admiration he commands within the community.


Speaking after his installation, the newly decorated Bobarin Agbenuso-Onkòwé, Chief Olugbenga Akande, described the honour as deeply meaningful and symbolic. He noted that the title represented far more than a ceremonial recognition, calling it “a timeless honour that will be retold down the ages.”


The ceremony further strengthened the cultural heritage of the Ado-Odo Kingdom and highlighted the continued relevance of traditional institutions in celebrating individuals who have contributed to community development and cultural preservation.
