Oludolapo Adewale, Lead Trainer at Crystal Lattice Media, alongside renowned sports journalist and SuperSports television presenter Charles Anazodo, have been appointed as compere for the upcoming Newstap/SWAN Five Star Award.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the organisers and signed by the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Adekunle Salami. According to the statement, the selection of Adewale and Anazodo was based on their proven experience in anchoring high-profile events, with organisers expressing confidence that their presence will ensure a lively and engaging ceremony.
The Newstap/SWAN Five Star Sports Award was established to honour five eminent Nigerians and corporate organisations that have made significant contributions to the development of sports in the country. The initiative continues to gain recognition within Nigeria’s sporting community.
Those scheduled to be honoured at the second edition of the award include Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri; Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports, Rt. Honourable Comrade Philip Shaibu; Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Management Company Limited, Mrs Yetunde Olopade; club owner Chief Robert Onyeani; and internationally acclaimed boxing promoter Honourable Omonlei Yakubu Imadu.
Last year’s edition was chaired by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Malam Shehu Dikko. Recipients at the maiden edition included Benue State Governor Rev Father Hyacinth Alia; businessman and philanthropist Honourable Kunle Soname; Benue State Football Association Chairman Barrister Paul Edeh; GTI Managing Director Mr Abubakar Lawal; and Mr Ebi Egbe, Managing Director of Monimichelle Construction Company.
The event is scheduled to hold on Friday, March 6, 2025, at the Blessing Hall of Eko Club, located off Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos. Organisers say preparations are in top gear to deliver another memorable celebration of excellence in Nigerian sports.
