World Meteorological Organization Says 2015 to 2025 Recorded as Hottest Years in History

Global climate body warns rising temperatures highlight intensifying impact of climate change

The World Meteorological Organization has reported that the period between 2015 and 2025 represents the hottest years ever recorded globally, underscoring the accelerating impact of climate change across the planet.

According to the international climate monitoring body, global temperatures over the past decade have consistently surpassed previous records, driven largely by rising greenhouse gas emissions, warming oceans, and shifting weather patterns. Scientists say the trend reflects a broader long term warming pattern that has intensified in recent years.

The organization noted that the record breaking temperatures have been accompanied by an increase in extreme weather events across different regions of the world, including heatwaves, droughts, floods, and stronger storms. Experts warn that these conditions pose growing risks to food security, water supply, public health, and ecosystems.

Climate researchers also emphasised that the sustained warming trend demonstrates the urgency of global climate action, particularly efforts aimed at reducing carbon emissions and transitioning to cleaner energy sources.

The World Meteorological Organization called on governments, industries, and communities worldwide to strengthen climate adaptation and mitigation strategies in order to limit further temperature increases and reduce the long term impacts of global warming.
