The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reiterated that the scheme remains a key pillar in fostering national unity in Nigeria.
According to him, the NYSC continues to play a critical role in bridging ethnic, cultural, and religious divides by deploying young graduates to serve in different parts of the country outside their places of origin.
He explained that the programme was established primarily to promote integration, mutual understanding, and a sense of shared identity among Nigerian youths, and it has continued to fulfill that mandate over the years.
The NYSC leadership maintained that despite evolving national challenges, the scheme remains relevant in strengthening cohesion and building a more united nation through service, discipline, and cross-cultural exposure.
