The Federal Government has commenced the process of selecting a new batch of artisans for advanced technical training under its Skill-Up Artisans Programme.
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) announced that a nationwide screening exercise is underway to identify qualified artisans who will benefit from the programme.
According to the ITF, the initiative is designed to equip Nigerian artisans with advanced technical skills, improve their productivity and prepare them to compete in both local and international labour markets.
The programme aims to develop highly skilled craftsmen and technicians capable of meeting global industry standards while supporting Nigeria’s industrial growth and economic development.
The screening exercise is expected to attract artisans from different trades across the country, providing successful candidates with opportunities for specialised training and capacity development.
The Federal Government said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to bridge the skills gap, enhance workforce competitiveness and create more employment opportunities through technical and vocational education.
The ITF urged eligible artisans to participate in the screening exercise, noting that the programme will help strengthen Nigeria’s skilled workforce and improve the quality of technical services across various sectors.
