FG Pledges to Remobilise Exploration Activities at Kolmani Oil Field

RMAFC Chairman Muhammad Bello says government will support efforts to restart exploration at the Bauchi oil field.

The Federal Government has pledged to facilitate the remobilisation of exploration activities at the Kolmani Oil Field in Bauchi State.

The Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Muhammad Bello, made the commitment on Monday during a verification visit to the oil field.

Bello said the government was committed to supporting efforts to revive exploration activities at the site and unlock the economic potential of the oil field.

The Kolmani field has attracted attention as part of Nigeria's efforts to expand oil and gas exploration beyond the traditional producing regions.

The proposed remobilisation is expected to support further exploration, boost investment and potentially increase government revenue if commercially viable oil and gas reserves are established.

The development also highlights the Federal Government's broader efforts to expand Nigeria's hydrocarbon resources and strengthen revenue generation from the sector.
