Islamic cleric Sheikh Jingir has said he does not hate Christians and urged President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government to ensure fairness and equal treatment for all Nigerians.
“I don’t hate Christians,” Sheikh Jingir said.
The cleric made the statement while addressing concerns surrounding religious relations and the treatment of Christians and Muslims in the country.
He called on the Tinubu administration to uphold fairness and justice in its dealings with citizens, regardless of their religious affiliation.
Jingir's comments come amid ongoing national conversations over religious tensions, insecurity and allegations of unequal treatment among different religious communities.
He urged Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence and avoid actions or rhetoric capable of deepening religious divisions.
The cleric maintained that the government has a responsibility to protect the rights and interests of all Nigerians, irrespective of religion.
