The Osun State Government has approached the Federal High Court to challenge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the freezing of its bank accounts.
In the suit, the state government is seeking judicial intervention, contending that the EFCC's action was unlawful and has adversely affected government operations and the delivery of public services.
According to the Osun Government, the freezing of its accounts has disrupted financial transactions and hindered its ability to meet key obligations, including the implementation of government programmes and other statutory responsibilities.
The legal action marks the latest development in the dispute between the state government and the anti-corruption agency, with the court expected to determine the legality of the EFCC's decision.
As of the time of filing this report, the EFCC had not publicly responded to the lawsuit, while the Federal High Court is expected to fix a date for hearing the matter.
