Protect Your Chats from Peepers — Moruf Yusuf

Security expert urges Nigerians to protect sensitive information on their phones from unauthorised viewing and access.

Security expert Moruf Yusuf, popularly known as Ojogbon, has advised Nigerians to take deliberate steps to protect their phones and private conversations from “peepers” — people who attempt to view sensitive information on another person's device without permission.

Yusuf gave the advice in Series #130 of The Secure Mind, titled “Protect Your Chats from Peepers, Always Be Guided.”

He noted that mobile phones now contain much more than call records, including private conversations, financial transactions, personal documents, office files and other sensitive information.

According to him, careless phone habits can make it easier for unauthorised persons to access or view such information.

He identified practices such as failing to activate an auto-lock screen, leaving chats visible and neglecting security features such as app pinning as potential risks.

Yusuf urged individuals to remain particularly vigilant in public places or situations where someone is sitting close enough to see their phone screen.

He also encouraged phone users to make proper use of available security features and avoid displaying sensitive conversations or information unnecessarily.

The security expert stressed that protecting personal information requires continuous awareness and responsible digital habits.

“Blocking peepers from accessing your phone strengthens everything about you.”

He urged Nigerians to remain alert and make phone privacy part of their everyday security routine.

Just be good. Reflect. Stay alert.
