APC stalwart describes officer’s behaviour as “horrible” and calls for investigation into Abuja land dispute
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has thrown his weight behind the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following a heated confrontation with a naval officer at a disputed land site in Gaduwa, Abuja.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Igbokwe described the officer’s behaviour as “horrible” and “a representation of evil,” calling for his immediate removal from the military.
He said the incident reflected deeper corruption within Abuja’s land administration, alleging that “shameless land grabbers” were opposing Wike’s reform efforts.
“Who sent the small boy on this horrible mission? Take him out of the military asap. He represents evil,” Igbokwe wrote.
The APC stalwart also noted that Wike’s appointment as FCT Minister broke a long-standing regional pattern, adding, “No Southerner has been FCT Minister since 1990. In 2023, Wike became the minister — and hell was let loose.”
Meanwhile, public commentator Adedamola Adetayo (#BalogunKakanfo1) described the incident as “a threat to national security,” likening it to an “attempted coup d’état” and urging a full investigation into the land dispute.
