Ijebu Igbo Pathfinders Lay Foundation for Orimolusi Palace Monolith in Honour of Oba Adebajo’s Birthday


Newly formed association of Ijebu Igbo elites pledges commitment to community development and cultural heritage renewal.

A newly established socio-developmental group, The Ijebu Igbo Pathfinders, has taken a significant step towards revitalizing the cultural and historical identity of Ijebu Igbo Kingdom with the foundation laying of the Orimolusi Palace Monolith.


The event, held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 a date that coincidentally marks the birthday anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu Igbo Kingdom was both symbolic and historic.


Led by its Acting President, Otunba (Dr) Babatunde Rowaiye, the Pathfinders paid a courtesy visit to the Orimolusi’s palace, reaffirming their mission to ensure that Ijebu Igbo reclaims its “rightful place among the comity of progressive cities in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.”



During the visit, one of the association’s foundation members, Otunba Oluwatoyin Odueyungbo, the Bobaselu of Ijebu Igbo, revealed that the monolith will be completed within a few months and developed into a tourist attraction that celebrates the legacy and heritage of the Ijebu Igbo Kingdom.


“The Orimolusi Palace Monolith is more than a structure. It is a lasting symbol of unity, progress, and cultural pride for the Ijebu Igbo people,” Otunba Odueyungbo stated.

In his remarks, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adebajo, offered prayers for the association’s growth and success, commending the group’s commitment to community development and unity among Ijebu Igbo sons and daughters at home and abroad.

The Ijebu Igbo Pathfinders, though newly formed, have already embarked on several legacy projects across the community, reflecting their dedication to uplifting the town’s social, economic, and cultural landscape.
