COWA Urges Customs Officers’ Wives to Prioritise Their Health

Chairperson Ajoke Otunla leads medical outreach for border communities in Ogun State

The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Ogun 1 Command, has called on wives of officers to prioritise their health to remain strong and enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Speaking at a two-day medical outreach for security personnel, their wives, and residents of border communities, Mrs. Ajoke Otunla wife of the Customs Area Controller, Ogun 1 Command, Comptroller G. A. Otunla stressed the importance of wellness among women in uniformed families.

Mrs. Otunla noted that customs officers’ wives often shoulder heavy family responsibilities while their husbands are on national duty, urging them not to neglect self-care.

She also thanked the National President of COWA, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, for her commitment to officers’ welfare, and praised her husband for supporting COWA’s health initiatives.

The medical session, conducted by Dr. Zakariyya Abdulmalik, Customs Medical Director, Ogun 1 Area Command, offered free health checks, counselling, and wellness education. Beneficiaries from Idiroko and nearby communities commended the outreach as timely and impactful.
