Meghan Markle to Return to Acting After Eight-Year Hiatus in Amazon MGM Film

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, will make her long-awaited Hollywood comeback with a cameo role in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming film Close Personal Friends, alongside stars Lily Collins, Brie Larson, and Henry Golding.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is officially returning to acting after an eight-year break from Hollywood. According to Variety, Markle will play a cameo role as herself in the new Amazon MGM Studios production titled Close Personal Friends, starring Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding.

An insider told The Sun that the project marks a “massive moment” in Markle’s career, symbolizing her gradual return to the industry she left behind after marrying Prince Harry in 2018.

“It’s Meghan’s way of gently testing the waters again. She was swamped with offers, but this one felt right,” the source said.

According to People Magazine, Markle has already filmed her part and was described as “relaxed, friendly, and professional” on set.

The former Suits actress, who rose to fame as Rachel Zane, exited the hit TV drama after seven seasons to focus on royal duties. Since stepping back as a senior royal in 2020, Meghan has focused on philanthropic work, production projects under Archewell Productions, and a new podcast deal.

This new acting role is being seen by fans as a soft re-entry into the entertainment world—and potentially the start of a full-fledged Hollywood comeback.

Her husband, Prince Harry, is said to be “fully supportive,” encouraging her to pursue “whatever brings her joy.”
