The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of petrol at its retail outlets to ₦1,130 per litre in Lagos and ₦1,165 per litre in Abuja.
The price adjustment is part of ongoing developments in the downstream petroleum sector as market operators continue to respond to supply conditions, operational costs, and global oil market trends.
Industry observers say the reduction could influence pricing patterns among independent marketers, as fuel retailers often adjust their pump prices in response to changes introduced by major suppliers and refiners.
The latest adjustment comes amid ongoing shifts in Nigeria’s energy market following reforms aimed at promoting competition and improving efficiency in the petroleum supply chain.
Energy analysts note that fuel prices may continue to fluctuate depending on factors such as international crude oil prices, foreign exchange movements, transportation costs, and domestic supply availability.
