Nigerian music star Burna Boy is set to perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, joining some of the biggest names in global music for the historic event.
The Grammy-winning Afrobeats star will perform alongside Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber, who are billed as co-headliners of the show. Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay are also part of the star-studded performance lineup.
The show will take place on July 19 during the World Cup final at the New York New Jersey Stadium and will mark the first official halftime show in FIFA World Cup history.
For Burna Boy, the performance represents another major moment in his international career and places a Nigerian and African voice on one of the biggest sporting and entertainment stages in the world.
The singer described the opportunity to represent Africa at the historic event as both a privilege and a responsibility, adding that the performance goes beyond music and football to supporting greater educational opportunities for children around the world.
The 11-minute halftime show is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children.
Burna Boy’s inclusion in the lineup further highlights the growing global influence of African music, with the Nigerian star continuing to take Afrobeats to some of the world’s biggest stages.
