Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso have jointly expressed interest in hosting the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), submitting a collaborative bid to stage the continent's premier football competition.
The three West African nations, all currently governed by military-led administrations, are seeking to host the tournament as a unified regional effort aimed at showcasing their sporting infrastructure, cultural heritage and commitment to African football.
If successful, the bid would mark one of the few occasions on which multiple countries have co-hosted the Africa Cup of Nations, reflecting a growing trend of regional collaboration in organizing major sporting events.
The proposed joint bid is expected to be assessed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) alongside any other bids submitted for the hosting rights to the 2032 tournament.
