FG Donates N25 Million Worth of Anti-Snake Venom to Benue Government

Federal Government provides 100 vials of Panaf Premium anti-snake venom to strengthen emergency treatment for snakebite victims in the state.

The Federal Government has donated 100 vials of Panaf Premium anti-snake venom, valued at approximately N25 million, to the Benue State Government to support the treatment of snakebite victims across the state.

The donation is expected to strengthen Benue's capacity to respond to cases of snakebite, particularly in communities where residents face increased exposure to venomous snakes.

Snakebite remains a significant public health concern in parts of Nigeria, especially in rural and farming communities where access to prompt medical treatment can be limited.

The availability of anti-snake venom is critical in the management of serious snakebite cases, as delays in receiving appropriate treatment can increase the risk of severe complications and death.

The Federal Government's intervention is therefore expected to provide relief to affected communities and support healthcare facilities in responding more effectively to emergencies involving snake envenomation.

The Benue State Government is expected to distribute the donated anti-snake venom through appropriate health facilities to ensure that patients who require the treatment can access it when needed.
